💻 How to write messages on LinkedIn?

After accepting an invitation, is it worth sending messages? Why?

Of course it's worth it! I'm already explaining it: when an invitation (with a note) is accepted by our potential lead, we have a chance to get his response on our note. Unfortunately, it may happen that it is ignored. Then it's worth trying again.

To begin with, let me tell you exactly what a follow up message is. The purpose of a follow up message is to make contact, to thank you for accepting the invitation, to ask for contact. At this stage, we can ask a specific question such as:

Hi Michael, thank you for accepting the invitation! I would like to take this opportunity to ask you if in your company ... do you use ...?

As you can see it is very simple!

A follow up message can take a variety of strategic forms:

  • informative about the new article,
  • Information about the upcoming event,
  • informative about the new post,
  • opening conversation,
  • encouraging people to leave a contact (hot lead),
  • encouraging people to sign up for a consultation on the calendar (hot lead).

And most importantly, thanks to this action we can immediately receive a feedback message whether the customer is interested or not. Thanks to the fact that the invitation and then the follow up message are sent from a professional personal profile - we break the psychological barrier, which is often an obstacle to gaining contact if we use, for example, email or InMail messages, which state that it is a sponsored message. Our message looks like an ordinary chat conversation.

Sample follow up message:

Tom, thank you for joining my network of contacts.

Taking this opportunity, have you at Google thought about supplying employees with better computers? 

Our equipment is made for companies just like yours! Can you find a moment to give us a call?
